magnetic

While I was carrying him around today, he discovered a magnetic photo frame on the fridge.

So we spent a LOT of time putting it on, then taking it off, then putting it on again. Over and over.

And he giggled every time.

play space

Grandma Judy set up a cabinet in the kitchen for Chase thats safe to play with.

forbidden cabinets

So he thought maybe he could tour the kitchen and open all the drawers and doors.

Devious little bugger, he is.

mmmm... foot

He's got about a million presents for his (early) birthday party, there's almost 30 people around, and what does he want to do?

Chew on Moms toes.

It took me a while to clean up everything after this meal.

watching stuff

There was a crew of people laying down sod across the street.
To Chase, that was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened in all of his history.
Even better than watching daddy do yard work.

feed self?

For the first time, this week I gave Chase food that he could eat on his own.

At first he looked at me, then the food, then me again, like "You're supposed to be putting this stuff in my mouth. Get to it Mister!"

OK!

It took a little hand feeding on my part to get him started, but since he's the smartest and most beautiful child in the world, he picked up the process pretty quick.

Yum!

By day 2 of the 'feed myself' program, we're looking at a 93% efficiency rating. And the grins are 100% awesome.

Big helper with the yard work. Big help.

short man standing

He's got this 'walking along the furniture' thing down pretty good. Other than the more than occasional tumble, he's pretty good at it.

Verbally, Sally and I both say "yeah! good job!!"
Mentally, we're both thinking "oh dear god! He's going to be walking soon!!"

laughy grins

He just thinks its a blast.

trucks and tractors and trains

He does like to play with the rolling vehicle type toys. Even makes a 'ba-vrooom' noise while he's doing it. Cuteness complete.

But he also makes the same noise while playing with things like animal toys and cooking utensils, so I won't be comparing him to Stephen Hawking just yet.

upgraded bathroom

New look for the bathroom facilities. Very spiffy.

We're almost done. And when I say we I mean Sally (and Bill), because its May, and there's no way I'm doing any indoor work unless there's like, tornados or something going on. I got gardens too garden.

same bath, different looking room

The new stuff is Chase approved.

11 months elderly

We just aren't ready for next months birthday. Like, the real deal. The big 1.

For a gift, I'm thinking we'll just buy him more wood products to chew on.
